 Long before Kirk Douglas this was the screen version that most
people were familiar with. This 1914 Italian film has Circus Maximus
hero and war hero Spartacus leading the gladiator's revolt, clearing
himself of false murder charges and trying to win the hand of his
lady love. Quite well done with good acting from mostly uncredited
performers. Lavish crowd and battle scenes make this one of the
first screen spectacles. B&W , Silent, DVD-R, ALL-REGION.
